CHARITY EVENTS
Here are the highlights of some of the charitable events in this issue: Beauty & the Beast put together by Sandie Ashing in aid of Cudeca Cancer Hospice on Friday 20th February at Cartama Theatre and Sunday 22nd February at the Moonlight Bar, Sunset Beach Hotel, Benalmadena. Local resident, Samantha Bayley is running the London Marathon and is also organising a charity concert alongside Celebrity Divas in Benalmadena to raise money for the Mental Health Foundation. This again will be at the Moonlight Bar at Sunset Beach Hotel. More information on both these events is on page 28. International Women’s Day Luncheon and Fashion Show organised by Marbella Social Events at Restaurante Le Papillon in Marbesa on Friday 6th March in aid of Cudeca Cancer Hospice (see below). Pad Animal Charity Fish ‘n’ Chips Quiz Supper at El Parro Gold Restaurant in Los Boliches on Saturday 28th February. Spring Fair to be held in La Cala on 29th March. POSITIVELY PINK & POSITIVELY BLUE
During the course of 2015 Positively Pink & Positively Blue, the local breast cancer and prostate cancer screening charity have set themselves the challenge of offering 600 free breast screenings and 400 free Prostate blood tests/testicular cancer screenings. The 2015 campaign has begun and appointments are available now by calling 952 835 776.
For them to continue to be able to offer these FREE services they need your support, as they need to raise the necessary funds to pay for the mammograms, ultrasounds and PSA blood tests. As a charity they are very proud of the fact that ALL of the monies they raise are used solely for the purpose of funding the professionals to carry out the radiography and blood analysis; all of the charities’ costs are absorbed by the El Oceano Hotel & Spa and Clinica Medicare in La Cala de Mijas.
