Key to Mijas Costa #100

WOW – Key to Mijas Costa’s centennial issue – yes, we are celebrating 100 issues of your dedicated, local, top quality magazine. It has been a bit of a bumpy ride since the recession, but we see green shoots slowly starting to appear.

Firstly, I would like to extend a very special thank you to all our advertisers who have been with us along the way, some from the very beginning and of course, you, the readers without whom none of this will have been possible.

I remember in the early days when a big event in the area was the opening of McDonalds in Calahonda. We now welcome distinguished Fashion Designers and big name artists at Rock Festivals at the fairground site in La Cala!

In this issue we have a report on the run up to Paris Fashion Week presented by Marbella Beauty Academy on page 8, we welcome back Mark Bajerski, Healer of Hearts on page 22, we also have a feature on local authoress, Marion Reynolds whose book “A Soldier’s Wife” will feature in forthcoming issues of Key to Mijas Costa. We also have a report on the Rockabilly party featuring renowned Finnish group, Mystery Train on page 33, an introduction to N332.es, a group of Spanish Policemen dedicated to providing English translations of the Spanish traffic laws on page 40, plus to round up – all the fun of the fair at the Indian Pavilion at the 21st International Feria in Fuengirola on pages 68-69.

Key to Mijas Costa is proud to boast the best restaurant guide in the area both online here and of course in the magazine from pages 54-70. We feature restaurants from Europe of course - traditional Spanish, English, Italian and Swiss but also from around the globe – Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Lebanese. We are also delighted to welcome not one but TWO former Michelin* chefs in this issue, Patrick Dwyer at quirky The English Garden in Calahonda – see page 71 and also Steven Saunders at soon to be open, shabby chic The Little Geranium in La Cala on page 55.

Enjoy all our regular features too and we look forward to seeing you again in June.
