Summer has been and gone and the much awaited rains are here to cool everything down as we batten down the hatches for the up and coming festive season.
Despite all the global doom and gloom, I was so heartened to see many establishments getting into gear early for Christmas and offering all kinds of exciting offers both in the run up and throughout the festive season. So however bad it may seem, we on this little part of the coast are not going to let it spoil our Christmas. Looking and feeling good is not just women's territory any more, so guys treat yourself as well. If you can't face another Christmas up to your elbows in the kitchen sink, see the Special Xmas offer for a stay at the Hotel Tamisa Golf. Don't forget to organize your offer party now as venues become booked very early on. Please see the advertisements in the restaurant guide for further details. If you are entertaining at home, G T McKenna, Irish butcher is already taking Christmas meat orders. Calypso Travel has some amazing offers for Xmas and New Year cruises.
Another positive aspect is the number of educational courses there are on offer now. In times of financial difficulty sometimes the best course of action is to retrain. It is surprising how a seemingly hopeless situation can force a change that normally brings with it a heap of new opportunities. In this issue we have a Spanish teacher,
Beauty Academy, IT training courses and we also welcome on board ITG who are offering ITEC courses in various fields. What better time than now to change direction.
I would like to thank all the restaurants that we have visited in the last couple of months. We are building a nice gallery of photos to include in future issues of the magazine. We will get round to all of you in the fullness of time.
Plenty for you to read this time around and see you again for the Christmas issue.
