Of all the golf courses that border the Costa del Sol , Santa María Golf & Country Club is, one of the most characteristic. Situated on the edge of a luxuriant forest of pine trees and cork oaks running from the mountain to the beach, the resort offers the ideal setting for golfers and their companions, both to play the game and to enjoy the beautiful countryside.

The first 9 holes were designed by Antonio García Garrido and this course soon became the favourite of a large number of golfers who decided to become members. The second nine holes, opened in November 1996, were designed by the Club's Technical Team headed by A. Colin Mosely and the 18 hole course is considered by both experienced golfers and beginners, to be amongst the best in the Costa del Sol . The Santa María Bowls Club has one of the best facilities in Spain with two international size greens, a separate Club House, bowls boutique, bar and cafeteria. The Club has hosted the Spanish National Championship on more than one occasion.

A new Restaurant has been built which overlooks the golf course and the mountains beyond and this has already proved very popular with both members and visitors.
